Builder's Window Supply · Sorrento Valley, San Diego · Since 1996

Windows and exterior doors, specified at the counter.

Family owned in Sorrento Valley since 1996. Six materials and six manufacturers, sold to San Diego builders, architects and homeowners, and delivered to the job.

Quality. Creativity. Craftsmanship.

One opening, read part by part.

This is a real job supplied out of the Sorrento Valley showroom: dark aluminum sliders running the width of a hillside room. Almost every decision a window order asks of you is visible somewhere in this frame, and working through them in front of the actual material is what the counter is for.

The material list

Six materials, read the way a builder reads a schedule.

Nobody stocks six lines to be thorough. They exist because a coastal elevation, a security door and a budget-led remodel are three different problems, and the frame is where each one gets solved. Start with the opening, not with the brochure.

A recent project

A La Jolla custom contemporary home: Fleetwood windows and doors, TrustILE walnut interior doors, a mahogany custom entry pivot door, and a louvered mahogany and steel screen facade.

Dave and his crew over at Builder's Window Supply are the BEST. Always available to answer my questions and their delivery times were much faster than anticipated. Professional, courteous and I wouldn't hesitate to refer him. Even my contractor is referring him to people.

We had four estimates. Builders wasn't the cheapest, but won our business with professional knowledge, attention to detail, quality products, and excellent communication. Of the four companies, Builders was the only one to send both a sales rep (Nathan) AND an installer (Bryon, Bella Vista) to the initial survey of our home. No sales pitch, just discussion of requirements and the attributes of products available to meet them.

Before you order

The questions the counter gets asked most.

Start at the showroom on Sorrento Valley Road. Walk-ins are welcome, same-day appointments are usually available, and estimates are free. Bring whatever you already have, plans, an elevation, a window schedule, or a photo of the opening, and we will work through the materials and the brands with you before anything is quoted.

Six: aluminum, steel, wood, wood clad, fiberglass and vinyl. The right one usually falls out of three questions, how much glass the elevation wants, how much upkeep you are willing to do, and what the rest of the millwork looks like. Steel buys the slimmest sightlines and the most security, wood gives warmth and insulation, wood clad puts wood inside and a low-maintenance skin outside, fiberglass resists warping, rotting and corrosion, aluminum handles coastal air with slim profiles, and vinyl is the cost-effective option with strong insulation and noise reduction.

Manufacturer's warranties are available on the lines we carry. Which coverage applies depends on the brand and the product, so we go through the warranty terms with you at the time of the order rather than after it.

The job does not end at the loading dock. We are full service from the first quote through post-installation support, which in practice means fielding the installer's questions about fittings, weatherproofing and hardware integration after the units are on site. Pickup and delivery are both available.

Coastal San Diego is hard on the wrong frame. That is why the roster runs six materials rather than one: aluminum resists corrosion and holds slim profiles near the water, fiberglass will not warp, rot or corrode, wood clad keeps the weather off the wood, and the glazing packages on the lines we carry include double and triple-paned units with inert gas fills for insulation and noise.

Anything that describes the openings. A window schedule or elevation is ideal, rough opening sizes are the next best thing, and photographs of the existing windows or door help more than people expect. If you are working with an architect or a builder, bring their drawing set and we will quote from it directly.

Bring us the opening. We will talk you through the frame.

One window or a whole-house schedule, the counter treats both the same way. Call or text (858) 222-6494, email logistics@builderswindow.com, or walk in between 8:00 and 4:00 Monday to Friday.
